Getting cooler....

this week. The highs will be in the 50s and the lows getting into the 30s. Actually feels like Christmas is getting closer. I can remember many a holiday down here when we were in shorts. Got to go back up to the Big City soon and not looking forward to the cold up there. All of the hustle and bustle, Radio City all lit up, the big tree, and the ice skating there kind of gets one in the Christmas spirit. Want to say Happy Anniversary to the sister and brother-in-law for tomorrow. Hope y'all have a great day.

Little Climber

Riley has been climbing on everything today. We have been moving furniture so he can't climb up and fall. I try to keep them in the room that I am in but that is not always possible. He is also so very fast. Jax got to put up his little Christmas tree today. He now wants to decorate it with everything.

More Turkey!

We had a great day in the big R town today. I think Jax wore his cousins out. He had them running from him, chasing him, driving him on the tractor, jumping on the bed (yes he was not suppose to be doing that), and he never stopped telling them what to do. He is going through a phase where he tells you what to do and how to do it (I really hope it is just a phase). It was really great to see all of the fam and let Jax and Riley play with everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving today. We went over to the husbands mom and dads house and had a great time eating and visiting with our extended family. The food was fantastic! When we got home we started putting our Christmas lights outside. Jax was fixing everything and Riley was trying to ride the big wheel. Looking forward to a long weekend and visiting with my family later on.

Our Little Indian

Today Jax had his Thanksgiving party at school. The husband and I went to see our little Indian. They all had the cutest shirts that they had decorated on. They had ham, turkey, cheese, apple slices, corn, apple juice and grapes. Then they ran around and tackled each other for about 10 minutes. It was really cute. The husband has been smoking a turkey and it smells great. I just finished making a cheesecake pecan pie. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I am so thankful for all that God has blessed us with.

Weekend...

is over and back to the grind. Needless to say that was one of the most bizarre endings to a football game and kind of humorous. Yeah we lost too, so can't say much except that I know that you can't spike the ball in less than a second. Why didn't the QB just drop kick the ball through the uprights...a play out of Flutie's book. Anyway, turkey day is closing in. Got to smoke a rather large bird for the fam this year. JaxMan has been studying all of the sales papers that have toys in them. He wants a jackhammer for Christmas.....We'll have to ask the big guy up north for one.

Haircut

We took Jax and Riley to the big R town today so Jax could get a haircut. The kids hair grows like a weed. Now I need to start trying to get a good Christmas photo before he is shaggy haired again. I think I might put the Christmas Tree up this weekend. My friend R reminded me that Thanksgiving is later this year. I just love the Holidays - Don't you? Riley slept well until 2:45 last night and then he did not want to go back to sleep - say a prayer that he will sleep well tonight. Have a great weekend!

100th Post!!!

We made it to 100 post! Not much going on with us. Riley has not been sleeping so we have not been sleeping. Please say a prayer that he sleeps tonight. Jax now likes to play school at home. He starts with the pledge and then goes over the days in the week, months in the year, alphabet, then he shakes the sillies out, sings a few songs and then starts circle time. It really is cute how he directs everyone. Have a great rest of the week.

Weekend of fun....

is what we had. Riley had his b-day, and the Bulldawgs almost pulled off the upset. They played well, and people took notice. There were many making excuses of injuries, and many will say that we will always be the step-child university, but we will see.

Riley is very smart. The kid brings books and points and tries to talk. He knows what "bath" is and loves it. He knows what crackers are and loves them. When he is hungry, he goes to the pantry. This evening he was walking around with a plastic cup, trying to talk, and pointing at the fridge. He was thirsty. Too smart for his age.... He is just like his brother and is such a free spirit. They both have a little hippie in them, guess it is the Austin stay rubbing off. Riley takes off socks shortly after they go on, dances to the slightest rhythm, and looks for something to get into. JaxMan has an imagination like....like he needs to be writing movies or something. His teachers said that he keeps them entertained with his stories of saving people from fires, tackling crocodiles, cooking food, and moving dirt. What a life we live, the stories help us unwind after a day at the office.

We had a great Birthday weekend! Enjoy the pictures.

Friday...

is almost here. Big game this weekend. Many have already ruled us out, but we will see. We are still looking for our first road win, and what an appropriate time to get it. Riley will have his big family b-day party on Saturday. We will hopefully finish JaxMan's kitchen. That's right, the kid wanted a kitchen to cook, so I have been building him one. Riley will get to make use of it also. We are still trying to dry out from all of the rain we received last month. Hopefully we will get a hard freeze soon to get rid of these mosquitoes. They are still so bad, that you can't enjoy being outside. They swarm like bees or flies. I can't get over how bad they are.

Blue Eyes is 1

It is hard to believe Riley is 1. He has been walking for about a month and a half, he loves to dance, loves to take his shoes and socks off, he is really into climbing on anything, absolutely loves his brothers big 4-wheeler (he can get up and sit on it by himself and also tries to stand on it), he could eat his weight in Ritz crackers, around 6:30 am he is the happiest baby, around 11 pm, 3 am and 5 am he is the crankiest baby, loves his bath time, he would sleep outside if we would let him, he has the same love of the vacuum as his brother, he likes to talk on the phone, he gets so excited when daddy gets home, and so much more. I can't thank God enough for blessing us with Riley! He is truly a blessing like his brother. I will have his stats tomorrow after his year checkup. Here are some pictures of our great day!

One Year Ago

A year ago tonight - the husband was sick in the bed so I had to call my mom to help me with Jax. I started feeling funny but just thought I was catching the husbands cold. Well, it was not a cold it was the arrival of Riley. More to come tomorrow with lots of pictures.

Full Day

We have had a busy Monday. The boys and I ran out this afternoon and when we got back the garage door would not open. I called the husband and since it was almost the end of the work day he went ahead and came home. He had figured out that the electricity was off. About the time he drove up the electric company truck drove by. We have 2 lots that they are in a hurry to get leveled and they did not mark the electric lines. So 3 hours later we had power. It is so hard to believe that my baby will be 1 on Wednesday. He is such a Joy (just like his big brother). In the last 2 weeks I have seen him grow so much that now he looks like a toddler. It is so easy to forget how precious they are at this age.

3 year olds.....

are very interesting. JaxMan is going through one of those times when he does not want to take a nap, nor does he want to listen to anything we say. We are working on it constantly...we had to take toys away today...He is too smart...he knows what he is doing. It will pass. Riley will be the big single digits, 1, this week. He is too smart as well. Another very full week ahead.

Big Brother

The husband grilled a chicken tonight and while he was cutting it up - he cut his finger (it is fine now). I was feeding Riley so I jumped up and went to see how bad it was and while I was gone Jax decided he needed to feed Riley. The pictures do all of the talking :)

Firetrucks and little boys

I think all little boys love firetrucks! A few weekends ago Jax, Riley, Honey and I went to a neighborhood Fall Fest and got to see a firetruck. We also got to see a fireman put all of his gear on for Jax. The last picture is of Jax putting on his fireman gear :) Enjoy the pictures

Daylight Savings

I really do not like the change of time. With two little ones it makes it so hard to get them on a schedule again. We got the boys down at 6:30 pm so I am sure they will wake up at 4:30 am. Well, I know Riley will wake up about 6 times. It looks like all of his teeth are coming in at once. His top left started coming in on the 22nd and then the right top on the 23rd. Hopefully he will sleep better tonight (please say a prayer). We all had a great weekend. The husband got off early on Friday so we went and checked on my dad. He had major surgery but is doing really well. Please continue to pray for him to heal and gain his strength back and for my mom (his nurse :)

On Saturday we had to run some errands and then came home and got ready for trick or treat time. Jax loved going up and saying trick or treat. Our neighborhood ask that everyone set up at the end of their driveway. I had the red wagon packet with a blanket, and tons of extra clothes and hats. It got really chilly while we were out. Jax was a cowboy and Riley was a Indian (Native American). Jax would tell everyone in a funny voice "I'm a Cowboy". The misquotes were bad before we left last night but as it got colder they were moving slower (I am attaching a picture of our huge misquotes). Have a great week!
