Red Crayons...

That is what made it in the washer....and the dryer...The wife has been researching on the internet on how to save the clothes, and how to get it out of the dryer...Not sure how the crayons got in the washer, but I have a good guess. I think the wife has managed to save most of the clothes affected. She has gotten it out of the dryer also. Oh yeah, the BullDawgs are running all over that team from Hawaii. This is the best they have looked yet.

3 Hours

Yes, it took 3 hours to get Jax and Riley's checkups (3 year and 9 month). Our appointment was at 10am so we got to the office at 9:50 and finally at 12:15 we got to go back to a room. Once we got back to the room Jax got scared. Just in case you did not know Jax has always been terrified of the doctors office - now he loves his doctor (except when she is looking in his ears or throat). We do love their doctor. So we had talked to Jax about the checkup and got him all ready. He was going to ask the doctor if he could sit in his daddies lap instead of laying on the table. When the nurse came in to get us to go weight he blurted out can i sit and not lay on the table (it really was the most innocent thing ever). So, we all got weighed and Riley did not like that one bit. He was so tired because he missed his morning nap for this appointment. Once we got into the room the nurse said we had to get their finger pricked - well Daddy had told Jax that he was not going to have to. We had a few tears over the prick. Then the other nurse came in to make sure we were not letting Jax play with stray dogs and that we were still putting Riley in a car seat. She also wanted to know if Riley was crawling yet - he looked at her like lady I am a walking man now. Then Jax blurted out that he did not want the Doctor to look in his throat so the nurse said well lets practice. She told him if he opened really wide then the Doctor would not have to stick the stick in his mouth. So Jax practiced that a few times and then the Doctor came in . Before she could get both feet in the door way he said you don't use a stick in my mouth. So she threw the stick that she had in her pocket away. Now, I forgot to tell you that he wore his cowboy boots to the visit (again he really likes his Doctor he just does not like the whole setting and I think he wanted to impress her). So when the doctor came in she made a comment about how cute he was and that just made in light up. But we did not get out of that office until 12:45. Jax did so well at this checkup and even got his flu shot without a lot of Drama. Riley did really well also and the flu shot did not bother him that much. Jax now weighs 34,5lbs. and was 39 inches tall and Riley weighs 20.14lbs and was 30 inches tall. The rest of the afternoon was rest and play.

Not much...

Not much tonight...Taking the boys to the Dr tomorrow for a checkup, now that we have insurance again. Riley is a walking machine...JaxMan overcame his not using the bathroom at school, at least not in the classroom bathroom, today. He had used the one in the hall, but today was the first day that he ventured to the one in their classroom. Making progress....Busy week with work....Will check back tomorrow....

Getting ready for another week...

JaxMan has learned his days of the week. He is getting good at keeping up with the days of the week, and knowing when the weekend is here. "Daddy, you no go to work today, and I don't go to my new school," is what he asked on Saturday morning. He knew today was Sunday and tomorrow is Monday, "I go to my new school." Riley took off running today, with a little persuasion from his brother.

Where does the time go?

They are growing up so fast - I know everyone says that but it is so true. I was watching Jax sit on the couch and watch TV today and Riely walking around the coffee table. It is so hard to believe that my baby is 3 and my other baby is about to be 1
We had a great family day today. It started with cinnamon rolls, a friends Birthday party at Sci-Port, and then playing and grilling.

He Walks!!!

Yes, Riley is a walker now. He just all of the sudden started walking. Now he is not that stable but he can walk across a room holding a toy. Now, we just have to get him to sleep through the night. He made it until 2:30 last night and then would not go back to sleep until 3:20. So please say a prayer that he will sleep until at least 6am. I just want him to get all of the sleep that he needs for a growing little boy. We have a busy weekend with Birthday parties and hopefully great weather. I will post pictures of our little walker tomorrow.

Brothers

Guest Writer - Riley is really starting to walk more and wants to do everything his brother is doing. They usually play pretty well together until Jax gets tired of him and starts taking the toys away or pushing him. You can see by the pictures that Jax likes to give orders. Jax made a breakthrough yesterday and used the bathroom at school. I don't know why he was scared. I am also putting a picture of Jax from today. He was wearing this when I picked him up today (his class is learning about the rainforest). Have a great Friday!

The Meeting...

We had our first "Parent's Night" at JaxMan's "new school". It went very well. His teacher said that he has gotten better, and that he has not caused anymore disturbances during cirlce time. We asked about him not going outside yesterday, and she gave us the story. Apparently he thought it was funny to make loud noises while waiting in line to go outside. One of his teachers told him that he would not go if he could not be quiet. Well, he did stay inside briefly with the other teacher while the other children went outside, and then he got to go outside. The teacher that stayed inside with him was laughing when they came out. She told the other that JaxMan kept asking, "Where are my kids?" He refers to his class as his kids....The JaxMan, at it again.

50+...

That is where we are in the number of posts. Time flies...Seems like just yesterday when we started posting these. JaxMan had a decent day, except for a minor meltdown after school. It had been a couple of weeks since his last, so I guess he was due one. He did not go to timeout today, so it was a pretty good day, although he did mention something tonight about the kids going out to the playground and he had to wait inside...The wife will have to investigate that tomorrow. Riley is still trying to get the walking thing down. I think he will have more teeth by his first b'day than the JaxMan did.

Not much....

Not much to say tonight...Will be busy with work this week...We (JaxMan and I) did get the yard done today. It was dry enough to mow, and Jax had been itching to get out and fire up all of his lawn equipment. Signing out til tomorrow...

Saturday

Guest Writer - We had the friend birthday party for Jax today. Jax had a lot of fun with all of his buddies. Two of the kids have brothers that are close to Riley's age so they all got to play together. I am attaching pictures from the party. I had trouble with the cake so I ended up making this one really fast. You can also see all of my crafts -the cow, rooster, tractor, Happy Birthday banner, and the J sign. I am so tired so talk to you all later.

Still Raining....

Yep, still pouring every chance it gets. We are moving JaxMan's party inside tomorrow. Several of the kids that were invited are either sick or out of town, so there will only be a few here tomorrow, but it will still be fun. We are contemplating on moving his "jumpy thing" inside or in the garage. The only problem with that is if we move it inside, then Jax will expect it to stay, and I am not sure that the wife will go for that type of new furniture. It would be fun though! If we set it up outside, it is liable to float off. Hopefully the rain will move out soon....

Party #2....

That is what we have this weekend. Last weekend we did the JaxMan's birthday thing with the fam, and this weekend he will have another party with some of his little buddies. One issue is that we are having it here at the house and had things planned to be outside, but we have had sooooo much rain, everything is soooo drenched. The rain looks like it will be here for a while, so we are working on inside games and entertainment. The wife is taking cupcakes and goody bags to his school tomorrow for a little shindig there with that crew. Other than that, we are hoping the Dawgs get their firs W this weekend. First home game and first time the new Jumbo Tron will be in use.

No Time Out

Jax did not get sent to time out today! The teacher did tell me that he really likes to talk. She said she thought he was going to be a quite one because he did not say much his first few days. Jax has now warmed up and is his usual chatty self. He gets really shy at first but after being around him for about 10-15 minutes he will talk to you about anything and everything. I love his curiosity but I am teaching him to respect others by not talking when they are. We have also been enforcing listening to others. Riley has tooth number 2 coming in. So not much sleep last night. Hopefully it will be better tonight. I have been busy making cows, tractors, pigs, etc. for the big birthday party this weekend.

Not Listening....

That is what JaxMan went to timeout for today at school. After the wife got him home from school, she asked him if anyone at school had to go to timeout today? His response, "Uh huh, me!" What?? What for? "I did not want to listen to the story" was his response. Apparently he was talking while a story was being read to them. We had told him that if he gets sent to timeout at school, then we would take away a toy. So the wife took away a toy. We will need to find out tomorrow from his teachers exactly what happened. On another note, is it weird that JaxMan doesn't request "typical" songs for me to sing to him at night when putting him to bed?? Songs like "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Wheels on the Bus", etc....These days he requests "Hey, Hey Good Lookin", "Louisiana Saturday Night", and "He Went to Paris" among other songs.

Chair

It is me again. Riley really wants to walk and can take about 7 steps without falling down. The other day I heard a chair scrapping the floor so I yelled at Jax to see what he was doing. Jax yelled back and I could tell he was not near the dragging noise so I looked around the corner and saw Riley pushing his little chair around and around the dinning room table. He was smiling so big. It was the cutest thing. Today he was so happy when Jax would play with him or at least acknowledge him. He really loves his big brother. Jax decided that he wanted to sleep with Riley in Riley's bed. It took us awhile to convence him that he could not sleep with Riley. Oh, the fun adventures we are having and have to look forward to.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Guest Writer - It is so hard to believe that my little man is 3 years old. I know everyone always says that but it really is true. We had a great day. Jax was so excited about his birthday. He woke up an hour early and had a smile on his face all day. We started the morning by making waffles and Jax had chocolate milk with whipped cream (he loves chocolate milk but I try not to let him have it to often). Then we opened one gift. Jax and the husband went to the grocery store and then we all had lunch together. Around 2:00 pm my mom and dad, my brother and his family and the husbands mom and dad came over for the party. Jax could not stop dancing - he was so happy to see everyone and was so ready to eat the cake. He had a great time eating his cake and ice cream, playing with his cousins and opening all of his gifts. I am attaching pictures from today - I decorated the cake so don't leave any bad comments :) Riley had so much fun helping his brother open gifts and then playing with the paper and tissue. It was a great 3rd Birthday. We are so blessed.

JaxMan the FireMan.....

Well, the Dawgs just couldn't hang past the first quarter....on a different note....Last night I fired up the grill for some burgers. The JaxMan saw the smoke, went to his room, and returned as the FireMan. JaxMan had put on his helmet, oxygen tank, and fire hose, you can see for yourself....He had that fire under control in no time.

Friday

Guest Writer - It seems like being a stay at home mom has not given me more time. I am busy planning the big third birthday party. Jax requested a tractor party but has now changed it to the tractor/dump truck/tow truck party. If any of you have suggestions for games we can play at the tractor party please let me know. I have a few but would love more. Riley woke up with a big whelp on his head this morning. I think he is allergic to mosquito's. You can see it in the pictures that I am attaching. I wanted to get some pictures of Riley in an outfit I got him awhile ago and found out that my child does not like wet grass. These pictures are below. Riley also got his first sippy cup today on his 10 month birthday. We are headed to the big R town tomorrow to get a haircut for Jax and let him ride pappaws tractors. Have a great weekend.

Big Day Ahead...

Update from last night first, JaxMan stayed all night at the parentals last night. They said he did mention that he wanted to go home, but it did not last and he went to sleep. It is getting closer to JaxMan's birthday. He will be the big 3 this weekend. He has requested a tractor with a bucket so he can dig holes and move dirt, a tow truck, and a car. I asked him if he wanted a boat too while he was at it. "No boat, I fine", he replied. He does have a lawn mower, weed eater, blower, and chainsaw. He saw a hedge trimmer the other day and wanted that also, so we might break down and get that for him for his birthday. I might hire him out for a lawn service before to long.

First time for everything....

So we went to my parents house this evening for supper. Yeah, we call it supper. I helped my mom hang some new blinds after supper and then we were about to leave and the JaxMan decided he wanted to stay at Honey and Pop-Pop's house. So, we had some extra clothes in the car, explained to him that we would not see him until tomorrow, and here we are, 2 hours later at our house, and still no call for us to come get him. We tried this while back....he wanted to stay, lasted a couple of hours, and then we got a call that he was ready to come home...JaxMan is growing up, although, there is still the chance that we will get the phone call tonight....Riley is taking more and more steps now. The wife said he took 7 steps today by himself. While we were at the parentals, he took several. Should be walking soon.....

No Nap!

Jax decided that he was not going to take a nap today. It has been a really long day. Everything else is going great. Riley took 3 more steps today by himself. Have a great Wednesday!

Short week....

I'm back. Had to focus on the first full weekend of college football. The Bulldogs just couldn't quite hang in the second half against the size and speed of the War Eagle/Tigers. Got Navy coming up and that will be a challenge, but anything can happen and we have a chance. I believe that we can get it done, but we will have to wait and see. JaxMan and I tried going fishing Sat and Sun. It started pretty well, but the limited attention span eventually took over and he was more interested in throwing rocks in the water, but we had fun. We along with my dad went to see my grandma today. She broke her hip the other day and had surgery Saturday. She is still in the hospital and doing well. She should be heading to a rehab tomorrow. With the holiday today, it will be a short work week, which is good, but it also means we missed a day to get things done at work. JaxMan wanted to go to school on Sunday. I told him it was closed, but he did not believe me. We rode by the school, and I showed him that the gates were closed. He wanted me to let him in and have mommy pick him up. He is excited about being able to go to school tomorrow.

3 Steps

3 Steps! Riley took 3 steps today. I think he would have taken more steps but Jax was about to jump on him and was screaming at him. My little man is growing up. He wants to be big like his brother so bad. We have learned that if we don't want Jax to know what we are talking about then we have to spell everything out. The only problem with this is sometimes he still knows what we are talking about. The kid is really smart - not sure where he gets that from :)
Enjoy your Labor Day break!
This was Guest Writer again - the husband will be back tomorrow.

Saturday, September 5, 2009

Guest Writer again. The husband is busy watching football tonight. We had a great day today. Jax went fishing with his daddy today and had alot of fun. Riley took a fantastic nap (that is a huge accomplishment). Hopefully he will sleep through the night tonight. Riley reminds me so much of his big brother at this age but he definietly has his own personality. Yesterday he would not let me get him out of the swing. I kept trying and he would look at me and scream, so I would back away and he would raise one eye brown and give me a smirk. It was so cute and funny. It does scare me that he can already work his magic and get his way. He also loves his bath time. I usually give him and Jax a bath together but I was doing an art project with both of them so I gave them seperate baths. Everytime I would go to pick Riley out of the tub he would stand up and start walking around the tub (away from me) and he would do the one eye brow with the smirk. I have a feeling we are going to have 2 very active boys!

Friday Fun

Guest Writer again tonight. We had a great day today! Riley loves crackers of all kinds and Jax and I made homemade Icee drinks. We enjoyed all of that outside. So now I am going to let the pictures do the talking. Have a great weekend!

Tired

It feels like I have been working the day after Thanksgiving sale that started at midnight and I just got off at 9:00 pm. Riley has been attached to me since last Friday afternoon. The Jax man is going through the challenging 3's already - He challenges everthing and barks orders like my ex-company did. We have got our hands full through this stage. I really do love being home with them but the husband and I are going to have to work out a break for me. Since Riley is teething I wind up spending all night with him also. On another note, the weather has been really nice and we got a good rain today.

Almost Game Time....

Getting closer to the big kickoff. Gotta go beat up on some tigers/war eagles on Saturday evening. I think they will be too distracted trying to figure out what mascott they will use that day. Some may think that we don't have a chance, but we pulled an "upset" on the SEC at the start of last year and I think we will do it again this year. JaxMan did well at school again today. He said he likes it. Day 3 tomorrow, so we will see how it goes.

1st Day of School

Guest Writer again. Jax started his new school today and it was.... GREAT!! He was a bit shy at first but warmed up fast. He even got hurt on the play ground (he is all boy) it was not bad just a bruise under his eye. His teacher said he was a little shy about eating his lunch so she asked him if he was going to eat anything other than the fruit. He looked at her and then ate almost all of his hamburger, finished his fries and veggies and all of his milk. He sure is a good eater! I picked him up around 12:15. Great first day! Here are a few pictures from this morning. Riley is teething so we are not getting much sleep. I have to say these teeth are taking their on sweet time of coming in. Pray that we get more sleep tonight.
Have a good one.
